1.Does this program prevent Covid19?
No. This program only provides the short-term care to COVID-19 patients . However, some herbs and formulas do boost or regulate our body’s immune responses, which could reduce the risk of infection. We can provide a local herbalist from our list for your further consideration and consultation.
2. Can I take an herbal formula with my regular medication?
We suggest you take herbs at least one hour apart before or after you take your regular medication.
3.Should I take herbs with food?
Not really necessary. But if you have a sensitive stomach, you can take herbs after you have food.
4.If my symptoms do not improve after 5 days with the provided herbal formula, should I continue to take the herbs?
Based on the reference from the hospitals in China, the herbal formula could help to relieve the COVID-19 symptoms in several days. Also, the formula may slow the progress of the disease.
5.I have unstable medical conditions, can I take the herbs?
No. This program is offered to patients who have had a positive COVID-19 test with mild symptoms or no symptoms; or who have a pending test, or who have not had a test but have had close contact with COVID-19 positive patients. If you have unstable medical conditions, you are not eligible for this program. However, if you would like to take herbs, you can consult with your family doctor first, and we can provide a qualified herbalist to you.
6.I am allergic to different kinds of foods or medication. Can I take an herbal formula if all the ingredients in the formula are natural?
If you are allergic to the ingredients in the formula, you should not take it. Otherwise, you might talk to our herbalist for further assistance.
7.Who qualifies for the Herb Care US program?
You are eligible for this program If you: a) test positive for COVID-19 with or without symptoms such as: fever, cough, sore throat trouble breathing fatigue, etc; or b) you test negative for COVID-19, or your test result is pending, or you have not had the test but you have been in close contact with COVID-19 positive patients, or you are experiencing mild COVID-19 symptoms.
8.Is there any side effect from the herbal formula?
All ingredients in the herbal tea formulas are natural ingredients. However, some patients may experience upset stomach. But if you are experiencing any allergic reaction after you take the herbal tea, please inform us as soon as possible and contact your family doctor.
9.Is the herbal tea considered a medication? Do I need to tell my doctor about taking herbs?
It is not A DRUG. Herbal tea is a dietary supplement. Herbal tea formula composition is based on Chinese medicine. The treatment strategy to compose different ingredients in the formula depends on the diagnosis of the disease. You can let your doctor know about taking herbs if you are also taking your regular medication.
10.How do I know the herbalist is qualified or not?
All herbalist we provide have either passed the NCCAOM herbal program, and or they have graduated from a university or college of Traditional Chinese Medicine. They all have specific professional herbal program training. They are licensing acupuncturists and certified herbalists in the U.S.
